Travelling To School

Keswick Ridge Superior School operated before the popularization of the modern school bus. This means students traveled to school in different ways than students today.
Most students walked to school no matter the weather. These shoes and gloves were owned by Roberta Embelton.
When the weather was suitable, some children could bike to school. This bike was donated to the Keswick Ridge Historical Society by Elbridge and Jackie Jewett.
There are stories of children sledding to school, of course only one way here in Keswick. This sled originated in Zealand from the Morehouse farm.
Perhaps the most peculiar mode of transportation is skating to school in the Winter. We have stories of students skating across the river to the Normal School in Fredericton, and stories of students skating to other one-room schools.
