Photographs of the Mactaquac Dam

The construction of the Mactaquac Dam had an enormous impact on the Keswick Ridge area. Not only did the construction and related projects influence the local economy, but an entire village (Jewetts Mills) was displaced; many other family homes were also moved or demolished.

"Mactaquac: The Story of the Dam."

is a documentary produced by the New Brunswick Electric Power Commission in 1969. It contains historical footage of a time of great change in the central St. John River Valley and particularly in the Keswick-Mactaquac region. It will soon be available for purchase in our gift shop for $10.00
